stattwerk
“stattwerk” is a concept for repurposing an empty store as a community workshop. The project plans a shared workspace divided into designated areas for different forms of craft. Alongside the spatial concept, a visual identity was developed: name, logo, and typeface for the place.
With approximately 450 m² of workshop space, a wayfinding system was created to structure the different uses. Green signage marks delicate crafts such as printing, sewing, or pottery. Red signage indicates technical crafts like drilling, sawing, or working with larger tools. Blue signage identifies communal areas including classroom, kitchen, storage, toilets, and lounge spaces.
On the floor plan, delicate crafts are located in the front section of the workshop, technical crafts in the back, while the communal spaces are distributed throughout the site.
A designated workbench was also developed.
